Located in Umm Al Sheif and bordered on two orthogonal sides with adjacent residences, the plot is accessible and visible along a primary road of the neighborhood. With an adjacent vacant plot to the North, provision of privacy was integral to the relationship between solid and void. To ensure ample privacy while channeling the social and behavioral patterns of the family of five, the design proposal of EA Residence was crafted inside – out rather than outside- in; through the allocation of a courtyard at its center to create views and spatial interactions within the residence.
